This incredible collaborative interpretive work of the iconic Steel Standing photograph incorporates the skill of the No.1 scratch board artist in the world, Mr. Mark Summers. Mark has 4 TIME magazine covers to his credit. He has also designed and published 16 stamps for the United States Postal Service, as well as The Royal Mail and Canada Post. He’s worked with some of the top global Fortune 500 companies, and is highly respected among his peers in the illustrative art world. For his work Mark has received 6 medals from the Society of Illustrators in New York and was given The Hamilton King Awards for best illustration in 2000. At last count he had received just over 350 awards at home and globally. Mr Summers has been honing his craft for well over 40 years, and personally stated that Steel Standing ranked as the 3rd most difficult work in his entire career. This is a true honor and further cements Steel Standing in history. He only works on what he wants to as his talent is constantly sought after. He took on Steel Standing because he says he was very impressed with the incredible gravitas of the image and that he can definitely see the photograph gracing the cover of Time magazine at some point in the future. We shall see 🙂
